Madeleine Moon MP - Working hard for Bridgend

Having the chance to see what lies behind the famous glossy 10 Downing Street front door proved to great a temptation for Gwyneth Poacher, Peggy Parish and Ruth Foster when they were invited to meet the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife, Sarah by MP Madeleine Moon. Gwyneth and Madeleine told the Prime Minister about the fantastic work the Sandville does for those with serious illness.
The Prime Minister and Sarah learned about the ways in which the Sandville Centre cares for patients from across the world who are having radiotherapy and chemotherapy at the Velindre Hospital in Cardiff, which the centre also runs a transport service to and from. The ladies talked about how the centre offers a range of complimentary therapies and activities, which include reflexology, yoga, massage, therapy in individual or group settings, aromatherapy and Reiki. It is treatment like this, as well as the Benefits advice and legal advice that the centre gives on a monthly basis, which helps patients and their carers to manage their illnesses and their treatment.
The centre is only able to do this amazing work because of the inspirational work of Gwyneth, Peggy and Ruth and their many volunteers. Their work is an inspiration to us all, and Madeleine was especially proud to take the ladies on their tour of Downing Street.
The three ladies wandered though Downing Street, checked out the Cabinet room and posed behind the lecterns used for Downing Street press conferences. It was a fantastic evening for three fantastic ladies.
