Madeleine Moon MP - Working hard for Bridgend

On Wednesday 10 March, Madeleine welcomed James Williams to Parliament as the Bridgend nomination in the Small Shop of the Year competition. Madeleine was delighted to receive the most nominations for the Kenfig Hill Post Office and Stores. Nominations highlighted the community involvement of James Williams and his support for his customers. ‘Nothing is too much trouble for James' said one nomination.
The All Party Parliamentary Small Shops Group awards took place in the House of Commons, where the importance of town high streets was highlighted and the continuing role of small shops and businesses were celebrated. While at Parliament James toured the Houses of Parliament and sat in on debates in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Madeleine said, "Whilst there can be no doubt that supermarkets, through their might in terms of purchasing power, can often offer goods at a lower price than a small shop, they find it difficult to compete in terms of quality and the very personal service that small shops are able to provide for their customers."
