South Wales Police Chief Supt Tim Jones last week joined local MP Madeleine Moon at a reception hosted by the Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife Sarah Brown in No10 Downing Street.
The reception was an opportunity to give proper recognition to those key people constituencies across the UK, without whom, the improvements we have seen in our communities would not have been possible.
Madeleine Moon invited Supt Tim Jones in recognition of the tremendous work he stewarded when Supt of Bridgend Police Force. Commenting on the event Madeleine noted:
"Tim was an excellent local Superintendent over what has been a difficult few years in Bridgend. He played a key composed role during the cluster of suicides in the region early last year, and has been pivotal in developing improved community orientated links between the public and the police.
While Tim has now moved onto a new role within South Wales Police, this was a great opportunity for him to receive the recognition his work in Bridgend deserved I was proud that he was able to attend."
