Customised Sheet Metal Ltd
Manufacturing Business of the Year 2016
Bridgend MP Madeleine Moon met with Malcolm Pearce and Jonathan Templar, Directors at Customised Sheet Metal Ltd to congratulate them on being awarded Manufacturing Business of the Year 2016 for the second year running.
CSM said they had been extremely busy over the last few months with bespoke projects for Amazon and exporting products to Germany with new orders coming in from European countries. Their principal service is providing sheet metal engineering to specifications provided by their clients.
Madeleine said: “Matthew told me CSM has been established on the Brackla industrial Estate for over 25 years and now have 30 employees. Their growth in orders means their present facility is too small and they are seeking bigger premises on the estate.”
Matthew said they operate an apprenticeship scheme at the Company taking on engineering apprentices with good grades in maths which is essential for the technical expertise needed for their work and they are difficult to find. He was encouraged to know that local Schools were actively working on STEM subjects with pupils to raise interest in engineering as well as science, technology and maths to achieve higher standards across the board in the next generation. Another niche company operating in the Bridgend constituency succeeding in the global market.
