 Madeleine Congratulates Local Residents For Taking A Stand

A group of local students have been awarded a 'Respect Award' for their courage in standing up against anti-social behaviour in Bridgend.

The pupils from Brynterion Cpmprehensive came to the assistance of a female person being assaulted in the street.

There were over 700 nominationbs from across the country and the winners will be receiving a cheque for £1,000 to spend improving the local area.

Madeleine said: "I am immensley proud of this young group who have set an example to adults and fellow pupils, and have shown that not all young people are anti-social and some are willing to tackle crime while adults stand by. That is why I nominated them and I am proud that they have been rightly rewarded."

The winners of the award were: Grant Gronow, Jonathan Smith, Nathan John, Jessica Littleford, Stacey Hughes and Hannah Jones.
