In response to these findings, the Government has launched a new national helpline for working people which will provide advice about workplace rights and enable them to report any abuses of those rights. The new Pay and Work Rights Helpline (0800 917 2368) is part of a wider campaign to raise awareness of rights in the work place and...

Tackling Climate Change
Climate change is one of the major issues facing the Government today. It is unusal, in that it is both an international issue and a local issue. Each of us has a 'carbon footprint'. Everytime we use our cars, heat our homes or turn on a light we add to our individual footprint. You can calculate your footprint here.

Internet safety is increasingly important in an age when most children have access to the internet and are using it to socialise online. Below are two leaflets. The first gives children important do’s and don’ts for when they are online. I recently met with Dr Tanya Byron, the child psychologist that headed the review ‘Safer Children in a Digital World’, and representatives from Google to discuss the leaflets and make sure their content could be easily understood by children. The second leaflet gives advice to parents on how to help their child stay safe and how to make their computer...
