20131022_151157.jpg Brigadier Rupert Jones MBE and 120 representatives of 1st Mechanized Brigade marched into Parliament on 22nd October following their recent deployment to Afghanistan. The brigade was accompanied in by the Band of The Life Guards.

After a quick stop for a photo, other Members of Parliament and myself had a chance to talk with the returning soldiers and take groups of them for tours of Parliament.

Today I hosted a reception organised between National Grid and CSV-the UK volunteering and learning charity- "Make A Difference Day" reception to celebrate the 150,000 volunteers across the UK who give their time in order to change other people's lives for the better, in a speech at the beginning the reception I also mentioned specifically the 1,125 volunteers in Wales who helped over 30,000 children improve their reading. It's Time to Talk about mental health
