Madeleine Moon MP Welcomes Extra Investment For Wales
Despite a clamour from certain quarters for widespread public spending cuts, today's Pre-Budget Report (PBR) means Wales will receive an additional £500 million funding next year.
The Chancellor's Pre Budget Report (PBR) will lock in economic recovery and build for growth in Wales, while protecting frontline public services and rebalancing public finances in a fair way.
Bridgend MP, Madeleine Moon; welcomed today's announcement, stating:
"The new measures to support businesses and the most vulnerable members of our communities will give the people of Wales an extra £13 million in spending.
I have sought to support businesses ever since my election in 2005, and even more so during this recession. I am confident that businesses locally will welcome the extension of the tax rate freeze for small businesses, the ongoing action to encourage lending by banks and other measures, like the help with deferring tax bills - these measures will make a real difference to small businesses and those who depend on them in Bridgend.
"The government are showing that they intend to maintain the funding we need to build growth - not cutting off supply when it is most needed. This is a plan for growth, jobs and fairness for Wales."
