MP highlights value of Reservists and Cadets

Madeleine Moon MP recently met Reservists and Cadets at a Parliamentary at the House of Commons.

The event provided a briefing about the Reserve Forces (the Territorial Army, Royal Naval Reserves and RAF Reserve) and the vital support that they provide to the Armed Forces - and within their local communities.

The reception also highlighted the value of the Cadet movement as a youth organisation.

Madeleine said

“Reservists have made a significant contribution to our operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and most recently in Libya. They give their time and bring commitment and expertise to our Armed Forces, which sadly is often forgotten when they return to civilian life. They are an important link between the Armed Forces and local communities and deserve our support.”

“Cadets offers a valuable opportunity for young people to learn new skills and build self-confidence which stands them in great stead for the future. It is also an important stepping stone to the Armed Forces.”
