“Andrew Brace, the Managing Director along with Matthew Brace, the Retail Director invited me to visit their factory and to tell me the Dunraven Story from its humble beginnings.

The business started in their parent’s dining room in Maesteg way back in 1979 and today is highly successful and is still very much a family run concern. They have built up a reputation and in a time of cutbacks and austerity it is good to see a local company thriving with a positive and progressive attitude.

Dunraven Windows manufactures and installs double glazed upvc windows and doors but their real growth in the last few years has been in the demand for conservatories mostly in the domestic market. With a turnover of around 30 million they are certainly bucking the trend in this tough economic climate.

Their workforce has grown to around 400 people and they now have three facilities around Pyle.  Dunraven is well known in South Wales but I was surprised to hear that they also carry out a considerable amount of work nationally.

On the factory floor I was given an informative tour with Stuart Lewis, Operations Manager and Jeff Thomas, Production Manager.  I was pleased to hear of their strong commitment towards continual staff training which has ensured a stable workforce over the years whilst they deliver a quality service with quality goods to their customers.
