Speaking to BBC Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement on developments in Ukraine

This Sunday I spoke on Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement show alongside The Economist's Senior Editor Edward Lucas on the developing situation in the Ukraine.

Amongst the things we discussed the importance of not over simplifying what is a complex political situation by focusing on individual characteristics of the country, pointing out for example that Wales, much like the Ukraine is split along language and geographic lines itself.

I also mentioned the significance of the fact that the military in the Ukraine hasn't got involved in the crisis to date and the aims of Russia in the country.
