In contrast to last week, it has been a relatively short and sharp week in Parliament. There were only two sitting days this week, Monday and Tuesday. These days saw an intense flurry of activity before a short recess in which Members returned to their Constituencies in order to focus on local matters. However, with the coming to light of the Paradise Papers over the weekend, and the fact that the Government does not seem to be able to escape controversy at the moment, all meant that the two day sitting was very intense.
This short week has seen the Government come under further strain and pressure. the looming prospect of another Cabinet reshuffle is further undermining the Prime Minister and weakening still the precarious position she found herself in after the General Election.
