The first week after the Christmas recess and Parliament was back into the full swing of things.
This opening week of Parliament for 2018 was conducted in the background of a Cabinet reshuffle on Monday. Although the rumours of movements in the big positions at the top of Government proved to be incorrect, many new faces were brought into the Cabinet.
Despite these changes at the top, the thrust of Members remains the same. Many are still concerned about the direction of the Government and the single minded focus on Brexit.
These concerns were once again highlighted this week in the Committees and on the floor of the Chamber, where the Government’s neglect of the Armed Forces was exposed and scrutinised by Members from all sides.
