A slow consensus around an extension of the Article 50 process is beginning to emerge in the House, but the process has been long and painful. However, this week the Government’s continued attempt to renegotiate their Withdrawal Agreement with the EU looks to have hit another stumbling block and as the clock ticks down Members’ minds’ are beginning to focus.
With the Brexit process, and in many ways the House itself, frozen for the moment, I visited Greece with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly where I witnessed the results of NATO operations aiming to find a solution to the humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean. I also congratulated the Greek Parliament on its agreement with North Macedonia which has started that states journey to becoming a fully fledged NATO Member.
