Finally it appears that some progress has been made this week in the Brexit process. Although on the surface the impasse is still very present, the series of votes held in the Chamber now mean that options have been narrowed down and a path forward can be glimpsed.
The House voted strongly to reject No Deal as an outcome, despite the Government whipping last minute to vote against the motion and on Thursday Members voted decisively to seek an extension to the Article 50 process. This means that a clearer idea of the way forward is beginning to emerge and the time to make a sensible and reasoned path out of the mess Brexit has become can now be achieved. This is by no means the end of the process, but does at least offer the beginning of a route which Parliament can follow out of the Brexit maze.
