The Government has been forced to engage with Members to a greater degree than they have in the past now that Parliament has, to an extent, taken control of the Brexit process. Although events this week may have appeared chaotic, it shows that Parliament is functioning as a legislative body, working its way through the options one by one to reach a consensus. It is also crucial to a healthy democracy that this process is carried out in public rather than behind closed doors, however messy it might appear.
Away from Brexit, Parliament discussed the 50th Anniversary of the At-Sea deterrent. While some see it as old-fashioned and even outdated, the At-Sea deterrent still plays a crucial unseen role in our defence and as such I would urge you to read the speeches and arguments made in the debate.
